Dry Lining
Fermacell is a leading manufacturer of gypsum fibre boards for walls, ceilings and floor applications. Manufactured from 100% recycled materials and 100% recyclable helping to improve the overall environmental performance of a building. Fermacell is made from 80% sustainably sourced gypsum and 20% cellulose fibres recycled from waste paper.
It is inherently stronger that conventional plasterboard and, as well as its strength and acoustic properties, it also provides fire, impact and moisture resistance. With an ability to carry loads of up to 50kg fixed directly to the board.
Standard Fermacell boards meet the performance requirements of the vast majority of building needs. However, some applications require specialist boards from within our product portfolio. These include Powerpanel H20 boards, which offer thecomplete solution to wet room, swimming pools and high moisture effected applications; and Powerpanel HD Boards which can be used in exposed external cladding applications.
Fermacell board provides a number of major benefits over plasterboard. Simple to install – although the technique is slightly different to plasterboard – there is no need for a wet plaster skim.
It is the ideal acoustic solution as it’s a ‘one-board type’ answer for partitions, wall linings, ceilings providing sound, fire and impact resistance often with less layers than plasterboard. Making Fermacell the ideal choice as the ultimate board to meet the challenges in modern constructions such as building regulations, but also the life time of the building and living environment requires careful thought.
Fermacell is strong enough to support radiators, cupboards and shelves without any special screws or re-inforcements; installers don’t need to think about secondary support. In fact, up to 30kg can be supported from a single screw fixed straight into the board with no additional fixings - this goes up to 50kg with a toggle type fixing.
