Image of Protec productWednesbury Streamline copper tube bearing the brand name PROTEC meets EN1057, and is supplied with a protective polyethylene coating which is extruded on to the outside of the tube in a seamless and continuous run. It is highly durable and very effective in protecting the tube from environments which could be harmful to copper. PROTEC coated tubes will withstand operating temperatures up to 95 deg C with occasional peaks up to 110 deg C. Wednesbury Streamline PROTEC tubes are available in coils (8mm to 28mm) and straight lengths (15mm to 54mm) as standard. Larger sizes (up to 108mm) can be made available on special order. Coloured coatings can be applied to identify the type of service. For example: blue for water, yellow for gas, white for heating.

Wednesbury Streamline copper tube bearing the brand name PROTEC 2000 meets EN1057, and is supplied with a white protective polyethylene coating which is extruded on to the outside of the tube Image of Protec 2000 productin a seamless and continuous run. This coating differs from PROTEC tube because it is applied with a castellated inner surface such that airgaps are established along the length of the tube. These gaps form a thermal barrier which reduces surface temperature, transmitted noise and condensation as well as reducing heat loss. The coating is highly durable and very effective in protecting the tube from environments which could be harmful to copper. PROTEC 2000 coated tubes will withstand operating temperatures up to 95 deg C with occasional peaks up to 110 deg C. Wednesbury Streamline PROTEC 2000 tubes are available in coils (8mm to 22mm diameter) and straight lengths (15mm to 28mm diameter) as standard. Larger sizes (up to 54mm) can be made available on special order. The standard range of PROTEC 2000 tubes is shown in the table below. Wednesbury Streamline PROTEC 2000 tube can be bent with ease using proprietary bending machines, or internal springs up to 22mm diameter. Bending machines, must be equipped with formers allowing for the increased diameter of the plastic coating. Prior to assembly, PROTEC 2000 tube supplied as soft coils should be re-rounded using a suitable tool. PROTEC 2000 tube can be joined using capillary or manipulative compression fittings meeting the appropriate section of EN1254, or by press fittings subject to confirmation by the fitting manufacturer.
