Timber Treatment

Haldane Fisher operates a Treatment Service out of our Newry and Bangor branches. Timber is impregnated with either Vascol Aqua or Tanalith E wood preservatives under rigidly controlled conditions in a double vacuum / low pressure plant. Vascol Aqua treatment is suitable for material that will be used above the DPC level and / or above ground contact. It is coloured with a gold dye to indictate that the material has been treated. Tanalith E is a green preservative treatment and is used with material below the DPC level and/or ground contact.

When impregnated into timber, the preservative components bond with the wood structure and cannot easily be removed. This gives the timber long term protection against fungal and insect attack, including termites, for both in and out of ground contact, interior and exterior applications. Tanalised® E pressure treated timber is also available with built-in water repellent.
