In previous blog articles we have discussed how to improve your home through kerb appeal. Kerb appeal is a vital factor in drawing potential buyers to your house and increasing the sale price. However, when it comes to selling your home, it is not just the outside that needs considered - you will need to take care of your interiors also. Therefore in this blog article we are going to be looking at the best ways to spruce up your home so it is in peak condition for sale.

EXTERIOR

1.) Paving

This is the route a prospective buyer takes to your house. Ensure that your driveway is cleared of all debris and keep your paving sparkling clean with the use of either a power washer or patio cleaner - both of which we can supply you with in your local Haldane Fisher branch.

2.) Doors

When a visitor arrives at your home - make sure the front door is in tip-top condition. A home isn’t going to be an enticing buy if you are greeted with a mouldy door covered in cobwebs. Use the small attachments of your vacuum cleaner to allow you to reach the smaller corners of your door and dust away all cobwebs. A warm soapy cloth is ideal for gently cleaning your door and bringing back it’s natural shine. However, whether your front door is wooden or upvc - we’ve got the products in store you need to bring your door back to life.

INTERIOR

1.) Doors

So important it makes it onto both the interior and exterior list! The prospective buyer has now made it inside your home - what condition are your doors in? Is the paint peeling off them? Do they stick? Do they squeak? Are any glass panels clean? Last month we wrote an article on how to fix some of these issues - check it out to see how easy it is to fix interior doors.

2.) Floors

We also covered floors in our October blog article, giving helpful tips on everything from squeaking floorboards to slippery floors. These are nagging issues that are more often than not very easy to fix. Your local Haldane Fisher branch can provide you with products to wax your wooden floors and keep them looking brand new.

3.) Walls

The best way to clean exterior walls is with a power washer, but how can interior walls be looked after? Warm water and using a soft cloth will remove most scuffs on painted walls, however a lot of stains are more difficult to remove. A fresh coat of paint or new wallpaper is the best way to spruce up the interior of your home.
